Fill In The Blank Friday’s: Rivalry Week

Favorite part of rivalry week: All the fun competition and pranks that go throughout the week, the blood drive UofU vs. BYU, campus activities all week long

The team you support: University of Utah- My blood bleeds red

Best way you support your team: This year I wore red everyday! Always cheer them on no matter who is in my company for the game day party

Favorite tradition on game day: Tailgating, picking out game day outfit and getting cute face tattoos

The team your husband supports: He is like Switzerland- Neutral, but I make him support the Utes!

Best rivalry week memory: When I was living in Provo with my two best friends we had a big BYU Utah party in Park City... Everyone who came was a BYU fan except me and one other person, they made us sit on the floor... and guess what we won, it was awesome to say the least

Best game day food: seven layer bean dip made by Liz and Laur! It is the absolute best. And of course the red colored treats, chips and drinks. All about the red.

Best game day entertainment: The competitive nature in everyone whether on the field, at the game or watching with friends and family. The 'Holy War' truly brings it out of everyone.

LET'S GO UTES! HAVE A FUN AND SAFE GAME DAY!

matt.knoop.memorial.park

This Saturday the 15th at 10am will be the grand opening of the Matt Knoop Memorial Park! It is going to be an amazing day and emotional. This park is amazing and everyone young and old can enjoy what it has to offer. I know Matt would love/will love every single thing about this park, but mostly he will love the beautiful setting in his favorite place, Park City, and the astro turf soccer field which is immaculate. I hope everyone can come and check it out, if not Saturday I hope it becomes apart of your daily lives. I know I can't wait to bring our kids to this park and tell them all about my best friend Matt!

We love this park already, so beautiful!

medford.oregon

Over Labor Day weekend Trevor, Nixon and I made the 13 hour road trip up to Medford Oregon to hang out with Dave, Erin, Royal and Nolan! It was a blast and well worth the journey.

Early Thursday morning with the car packed, me sick as can be and Nixon already whining we were ready to go. Though I slept most of the trip (I accidentally took Nyquil instead of Dayquil oops) we finally made it to Central Pointe where Dave and Erin live. It was so fun to see their cute place, neighborhood (which is really fun) and be a part of their routine for four days!

Nixon trying to be patient... he did a lot better job on the way home then on the way there!

Our trip consisted of lots of running, biking, hiking and site seeing, oh and Royal screaming because of Nixon.

Friday we went to lunch with Dave in downtown Medford, hiked in Jacksonville and Erin and I enjoyed some frozen yogurt and talking. Saturday we headed up to Ashland, which I absolutely loved and reminded me lots of Boulder, Colorado. We spent our day at Lithia Park, which was beautiful and lots going on. We ate some great pizza and shopped in a really cool boutique.
Saturday late afternoon Mary came down from Portland for the rest of the weekend and we all hung out. Sunday we headed up to Avenues of the Boulders a really cool waterfall. It was also Trevor’s birthday; we celebrated with pulled pork, hot carrot pasta, and fun fetti cake. It was a lot of fun to be with family on his special day. Monday we headed out of Oregon to Crescent City California to enjoy the coast and Redwoods. The Redwoods were amazing and not even the biggest ones. I couldn’t stop saying how magical they were and beautiful. I loved hiking through them and seeing such a different landscape from Utah. The coast was a little chilly and foggy, but it was fun to head to the beach and see how Nixon liked the ocean… he hates salt water! Tuesday we said good bye and today we are back to reality.

I found the Medford Oregon Temple on my run Friday morning! It is very pretty and very small!

Royal found a fuzzy caterpillar at lunch!

Ashland mineral water fountains--- so gross!! Nolan loved it though!
Nolan enjoying the wading hole at Lithia Park in Ashland.
Nixon after a morning run... Calm!

Redwoods & Crescent City, California- Trevor and Nixon compared to a redwood

Redwoods & Crescent City, California- split redwood

Redwoods & Crescent City, California- foggy, mystical, eerie beach!

Some of my favorite parts of our trip: Ashland and Lithia Park, the Redwoods, all of Nixon's new nicknames: Nixican (Nolan), Lickson (Dave & Royal), Nixi (Mary) and Nixico (Mary). Spending all day everyday with Trevor and Nixon, celebrating Trevor's 25th birthday! Thanks Erin and Dave for letting us come!

We have lots going on this month: Trevor starts school September 10th (I am so proud of him), We are helping Frank, Trevor’s brother, with Lotoja, my best friend Liz is getting married, Liz's bachelorette party, Liz's endownment, birthdays, training, Seattle and then we are off to San Francisco for work and vacation. This month is full of activities and fall fun! Oh I love this time of year and it always makes me want to be back in school enjoying fall semester and college football.

Wait for lots of updates this month!

Fill In The Blank Friday

Woo Hoo it's Friday! Happy Friday everyone. I know I said I wanted to start doing Fill in The Blank Friday's, but I have failed miserably! So here I am again committing to do it again and actually stay on top of it.

Fill in The Blank Friday's September Favorites:
1. What do you look forward to the most in September: The start of college football, it is so refreshing and makes you excited for the fall all over again

2. What kinds of activities do you like to do in September: I love hiking through the fall leaves and at night when it actually cools down wearing a hoodie to stay warm, most welcoming feeling

3. What is your go to outfit in September: All the new school clothes, but dresses, tights and boots! love being able to wear my boots again

4. Your favorite memory that happened in September: My first semester of college at Utah State-- football games, meeting new people, a new place, new friends. September marks the start of a new school year and when school is still fun and you aren't sick of it, still fun to wear your new clothes and see everyone.

5. What are you looking forward most this September: My trip to San Francisco with Trevor, the Giants game and the social media conference I will be attending. Doing lots of traveling this September and nothing is better than traveling. Medford, Jackson, Seattle and San Francisco here we come

6. What is one thing that you dislike about September: It officially means summer is over, but right now I am ok with that since it has been so hot!

Until next Friday I hope it is a groovy weekend!

Park City Half Marathon

This past Saturday I ran the Park City Half Marathon with my sister-in-law who is also training for the St. George Marathon with me and it was a blast. I loved running through my home town seeing all the landmarks that remind me of home. One the best parts was being able to run past Matt Knoop's Memorial Park that is still being built. We all will remember and consider Park City home, so many memories and love in one place. It helped that I actually did really well getting second in my age group and staying with a consistent pace throughout the race. It definitely made me realize that all this training is really paying off. It still isn't the big one though. Just six more weeks until St. George and it will all be over, but running will not.

august.sixth.one.year.ago

Wow I cannot believe that one year has come and gone since the day I married my best friend and the love of my life. I will say that it has been the best year and we couldn’t be happier. I find it funny that everyone says the first year of marriage is hard, but for us it has been the easiest, most enjoyable year and I can’t wait for what life has in store for us and our little family so far.

At first for our anniversary we had no idea what we wanted to do… we wanted to go away somewhere, but didn’t want to spend a ton of money. Luckily Matt’s dad, Dave, offered us his condo in Sun Valley, Idaho! I had only been there once before with Liz and Laur as our last girl’s trip before Laur got married and it was an absolute blast. I knew this would be perfect for our little get away. So early Saturday morning we were on our way to Sun Valley to enjoy the mountains, fun shopping, biking, hiking and relaxing and that is exactly what we did. I am so grateful for Trevor and the happiness that he brings into my life. I honestly can say I don’t know where I would be without him (I don’t know where he would be without me either). I can’t wait to grow old with him and experience everything with him by my side.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MY LOVE!

Fox Creek Hike

Nixon was pretty much in Heaven the whole time

Dinner at Smokey Mountain Pizzeria

The big bike!

There was a dust storm and fires while we were there, made for some pretty awesome sunsets

Nixon in Heaven again-- swimming his favorite

Waiting patiently for his ball

Anniversary dinner- The Sawtooth Club! I had Curry Chicken and Trevor had Seafood Pasta, seriously soooo good!

Check out his grin! I gave Trev tickets to come to San Francisco with me in September, a Giants hat and tickets to a Giants game while we are there! I was so excited to give him his gift I could hardly contain myself.

As for my gift I get to pick something special from Sundance and I can't wait!

What a great one year anniversary! Until next year.

life.going.fast

Life seems to be coming at us fast. In just a week we will have been married a year, and what a great year it has been, but I can’t believe that our first anniversary is here. Maybe it is because life has been pretty busy for us.

Trevor has taken up road cycling, I am training for the St. George marathon and Nixon, well he loves eating sticks, going on runs with me and playing in the park. Between those things, work and family we have been having a blast.

Over the 4th of July Meg, Corbin, Indie and Tosh were here and so were Erin, Royal and Nolan. We have been spending lots of time with family and we absolutely love it. It has been fun seeing everyone that we miss so much.

Happy 4th of July BBQ with Linthorst Clan

Popsicles at Trailside Park celebrating Lisa, Anna and Sylvia's birthday!

Quite the Knudsen crew and we are even missing four people!

Knudsen Sisters, we missed you Kathy

Park City 4th of July Parade

Indie enjoying the parade

The Firework Experts for the Linthorst firework show

I also was in San Francisco for work (16 hour days in heels is exhausting) and I missed Trev a lot, but it was fun to be in San Francisco with lots of memories of visiting as a kid. I love that city and the weather could not have been more perfect.

Little Italy- Client Dinner

Spotted: Banksy

Partner Cocktail Party, the lights were jelly fish! It was an awesome building with a sea theme. Apparently the building use to be the YMCA swimming pool and they converted it into a restaurant.

View from my hotel elevator

Over the 24th of July weekend Trevor and I got some tickets to Real game from some of our friends in our ward and it was a blast! The fireworks were amazing! I love Real games and they definitely make me miss the days of soccer.

As for marathon training and cycling things are going well—except I have had a little hiccup with my foot. It has been really inflamed and bothering me so finally after two visits to my doctor and some x-ray’s that don’t show anything I went to an ortho specialist at the U and still nothing. No running for two weeks has been killing me, but I have been able to cross train which hopefully will keep me on track with my training.
