Tradtion! Tradition!

I snipped this off Lauren's blog now you can see what we did!

A Rocky Road

Happy Birthday Matthew Lawrence Knoop- I miss you and love, but celebrate every moment I shared with you!

For Matt's birthday Liz, Laur, and I made his family a cake, out of tradition. Every year we use to make him a cake and sneak it into his bedroom or house before school, he loved it. I remember at Utah State for his birthday he didn't want me to tell anyone it was his birthday, but I still made him a cake and took him out to dinner. He knew I would do something, but I didn't tell anyone it was his birthday just like he asked. We also made him a really cool card for his grave that had a note for him and then we drew a whole bunch of small pictures of memories we had shared with him over the past 12 years. Here are what some of them were... A taco haha we always went out to eat with Matt and for some reason all the guys loved Taco Bell and Taco Time, but he also loved Hot Harry's, El Chubasco, Baja, and Davanzas, all the local spots. Another one was of us in a tent. The night before graduation the three of us set up a tent in Liz and Lauren's backyard. Of course we told Matt and Brady and the came over to spend the night. Well as Matt knew, the three of us together is insane, we have way too much fun, and he was one person who could take the three of us all the time. One thing we loved to do was quote movies and Matt HATED IT and I mean hated it. So this particular night we kept saying "my fingers hurt" from Happy Gilmore and Matt was getting very mad, he finally said if you guys say that one more time I am leaving and of course all three of us at the same time said "my fingers hurt" and Matt got up and left. We loved Matt and spent most of our time with him, doing everything we could possible. We are going to miss him and making new memories. We all know we will see him again and that is what keeps us going, keeps us string to do better, be better. I love Liz and Laur and we really have been through a lot together this year and we all know how much Matt meant to each of us, which is always a helpful thing on those days you just have to cry into someone's shoulder. We miss you Matt! We took some pictures of the cake and the card, which I have to get from Lauren and I will post them and I am sure she will too!

This past weekend has been some what emotional and significant. On Saturday it was the 10 month anniversary of Matt's death and today it is his birthday. I haven't been crying as much lately and I think it is because I am filled with joy these days and joy with where my life is headed, but it is amazing how my heart and my body just know when this time rolls around each month. It is like clockwork. I miss Matt everyday, I think of him everyday, I try and remember his warm laugh, soft hands, and his smile. He was definitely a huge part of my life and is still a huge part of my life. His death has transformed me and I know he is still there with me everyday and misses me too... well he better miss me. He is the reason I got my life back on track, I can now say that I have a temple recommend, a church calling, and am moving forward. It has taken me about 10 months to say that, to say I am moving forward. Matt will never be forgotten, the pain will honestly never go away, but I can still live, right? Somedays I feel like I can't, but that doesn't mean that I can't try. I love you Matt and miss you everyday.

Confessions of A Shopaholic

Saturday I saw Confessions Of A Shopaholic with Liz and Laur and I must say, I really enjoyed it! It was definitely one of those pick me up movies and something I could somewhat relate to. I am not saying I am a shopaholic, but I love love love to shop and I love fashion. I don't really care for brand names, except for my jeans, but I love having my own style and giving everything my own steeze. This movie really inspired me though to save save save! Things have been a little crazy with my bank account since I lost my job, but I get by just fine. I can pay for my gas, food, and other small entertainment (like chick flicks, o yeah and bungee jumping), but I really need to start doing a better job at saving my hard earned money. Sometimes I justify because I am young I am suppose to be going out doing all these crazy things, this is the only time in my life I can do that, which is true, but I can be frugile at the same time right? Well I am going to try it out and if anyone has any suggestions or hints on how they do it, let me know please! Oh and everyone should see Shopaholic with their girlfriends or mothers or something, it is a fun movie!

10 Things I Hate- Tagged*

This is the first time I have ever been tagged, but I am kind of excited to fulfill this little message! The rules are: list 10 things that bug you and tag 10 people... Here it goes

1. I hate when you go to your college class because you know you should and it is the most pointless, waste of time, and you leave seriously feeling dumber, what is up with that?

2. I hate when people eat bananas in my ear or around me close so I can hear them (That one is for you Lauren)

3. I hate when you say oh I really love that song, and the person in control of the CD player automatically changes it

4. It drives me crazy when people don't listen to what you are saying, or for that matter when they are "listening" to you, but looking at your forehead or cheek, and you are thinking hmm do I have a zit there, a big one?

5. I hate people who are just flat out mean when they shouldn't be

6. Secrets

7. Like Carson I hate when you get all excited for your favorite kind of cereal because the box is still intact in the pantry and there is none left for you to enjoy

8. My New Media teacher, drives me nuts

9. When things aren't organized, papers everywhere, bed not made... little things like that. Or when some of my clothes are out of color coded order (because someone has woren them and doesn't know oh Ali color codes her clothes and knows when you take them without asking!!!)

10. It bugs the crap out of me when I run out of conditioner before I run out of shampoo.

All my things start with hate, but I really meant, bugs me or bothers me.

I tag: Lauren Bailey, Erin Ewell, Meg Thomander, Lisa Harbertson, Kathy and Alex, Courtney Smith and that's all haha oops it's not 10 oh well

My Jump!

I was the first jumper to go and that countdown of 5 seconds is literally the scariest, most exhilarating time and you have to go, you have to do it or you will chicken out. I can't even explain to you how I was feeling, I wanted to cry, scream, and just jump and that is exactly what I did. We each got two jumps and I am so glad because my second jump was ten times better than my first. Here is my footage from my first jump (my second one was better, but no footage oh well!)

Our Short Documentary!

Here is our short footage right at the beginning!

Bungee Jumping!!

February 14, 2009- Happy Valentine's Day! This was the best, most amazing Valentine's day I have ever had and will probably ever have. Liz, Lauren, me, Courtney Smith, Brian, and Ben Rudd all went bungee jumping off of a 165ft bridge in Glenn's Ferry Idaho. It was the most exhilarating thing I have ever done. To explain a little bit, you climb up under the bridge to the "cat walk" which is not very wide and grates with a cable on each side to hold on to and walk to the middle of the bridge. Keep in mind there are Semi-trucks and cars passing above, shaking the very thing you are walking on. Then when it comes time for you to jump you exit the "safe cate walk" and step on to the beam for the 5 second countdown and dumb! I was the first jumper off and what can I say, I am pretty awesome! It was amazing. I am definitely going to be doing some more bungee jumping in the future, more like this summer in Lake Powell! It will be a 400ft bridge this time though, yikes! Here are some pictures!

Kiss On The Lips Valentine's Party

On Friday 13, 2009 Liz, Lauren and I hosted a Kiss on the Lips Valentine (Dance) Party! We had speakers, a strobe light, and empty living room (yes we moved all our furniture out), a chocolate fountain equipped with all the goods, and of course Hersey Kisses! Since it is a long weekend, friday (the day and hours before the party) we all kept receiving texts saying people couldn't make it and we were seriously contemplating cancelling our much anticipated event. But we sucked it up and said if there is only five of us we will still have fun and dance the night away. At first it was just the few people who showed up on time, because come on fashionably late is so in style, but by 10 there were probably about 60-65 people in our apartment dancing away! It was a blast. I was on the dance floor right at 9 till it ended around 1130 or 12. It was awesome!
