nixon's.accident

Our little Nixon ate something that got stuck in his stomach! He had to have surgery to get it out! His belly looks like Frankenstein! We are sure glad he is going to be ok! He is going to have lots of down time the next couple of weeks to make a full recovery! That means lots of cuddling with mom and dad!

The dumb green ball inside him (we have no idea where this came from or what it is)

His poor belly! Staples all the way up, plus stiches inside on his stomach and intestines

Cuddle Bug! Love this picture

Since the vet didn't give us a cone of shame to stop him from licking his staples we resorted to one of my tank tops. He hates it to say the least. I guess dogs aren't meant to wear clothes.

We are just glad he is ok! I know that may seem funny to some of you, but Nixon has been a big and great addition to our little family unit.

st.george.marathon

That's right I am running the St. George Marathon with my brother-in-law Dave and my two sister-in-laws Care and Erin! I am pretty excited and completely nervous to do this, but it will be a great experience. Funny thing is I have never had any intention to run a marathon, it isn't on my bucket list or anything, just happened to sign up on a whim-- I think it is better that way! Come cheer me on October 6, 2012 in St. George Utah!

Training, training, training! This is what it is going to be like the next 20-16 weeks!

how.time.flies

You really know when time flies when you are in a whole different season then from your last post. While lots has been going on with us. I think the first thing I will do is introduce the newest member of our family... Nixon and what a doll he is! Nixon is our 6 month old Boxer-Lab mix puppy and to say the least we absolutely adore him!

Nixon is definitely the biggest news for us, but we have been having a great time snowboarding, camping in Moab, spending time with family, celebrating my birthday, going on river trips and thanking our Heavenly Father for miracles.

Our last day at Park City Mountain Resort! I am so glad that Trevor and I are able to go snowboarding and that he enjoys the snow covered mountains as much as I do.

Beautiful, yet snowy Park City with family!

Nixon and Milo! We spent a week watching Milo and Nixon loved it, I don't know about Milo! They became friends in the end!

Trevor got a new road bike that he has been wanting for months! Now he rides almost everyday and can't get enough... Now is it my turn to get one? Yet another thing we can do together!

River and Nixon playing in the backyard... Not sure how our nieces and nephews feel about Nixon, he has a pretty lethal tail, but is such a lover.

Celebrating my birthday with the Linthorst and Radford crew at the new City Creek! I just love each of these girls to pieces.

Leaving to the San Juan for a 6 day river trip with my family... Trev's first with the fam! It was great fun!

River so excited to be on the river and get going!

The Harbs kids got to enjoy the river with us too even though their mom was enjoying the sandy beaches of Hawaii!

Trevor, Nixon and I did a walk for MS for my company IDS! It was a lot of fun and perfect weather.

Talk about miracles and being thankful for life! On the day of my birthday my mom rolled their land cruiser five times after trying and failing to avoid a deer from hitting her on her way down to Midway. We are so thankful that she only walked about with 6 broken ribs, 7 staples in her head and several lacerations and bruises. I know still sounds brutal, but we are so happy she is still with us!

After everything with the car accident a day after we returned from our river trip my Dad suffered a stroke and was in the IMC ICU for 3 days. All of us have been brought together through these two unexpected events in our family and it has definitely reminded us that life is important and fragile and that our Heavenly Father is watching over us constantly and has a plan for us. I have no doubt in my mind that everything happens for a reason and that he leads us to each situation everyday. I Love my parents and my family, both my families, and I honestly don't know what I would do without them, but the wonderful thing is that we will all be together forever.
